Cased Hallmarked Sterling Silver’yard O Led’ Ballpoint Pen 1970

For your consideration a scarce sterling silver English hallmarked’Yard O Led’ ballpoint pen dating from 1970. Looks to be the’Universal’ model. The pen has an engraved pattern and a vacant cartouche. It is contained within it’s original hard case. The case has two compartments, so perhaps it would have been accomonied by a pencil? The pen main body bears the makers mark’EB’ for E Baker & Son who produced for Yard O Led. Further hallmarked with the anchor for Birmingham, the lion denoting sterling silver, and the date letter’V’ for 1970. The top has the lion hallmark. The clip too has the lion hallmark and is stamped’YARD-O-LED’. Please view all the pictures above as they hopefully show all in detail. The pen is in excellent condition. The mechanism seems to work fine, and it writes as per the pictures. The case hinge works fine and springs open and snaps shut. Lovely collectable writing instrument.
