Vintage Waterman Fountain Pen. Model 452 – Sterling Silver Overlay. And a Sterling Silver Snake Pocket Clip. Please enlarge all 12 photos & read all the text for detail. This is a Beautiful Waterman’s STERLING SILVER Pen! & Very very usable. Very nice fine point & flexy nib – the cap threads on perfectly & posts well, the hard rubber under the silver has some fade to dark brown, the factory imprint is readable- The Sterling Silver (as marked) Overlay has some wear (some by the lever) , but is complete Sturdy & Beautiful , there is a graceful 3 letter engraving on the back of the pen as shown in photo # 10, The cap overlay is excellent, the cap top is like a mirror, The lever is Sterling Silver also (Lever works very well with a lever that’snaps’ into the at rest position as it should) The pens filler was restored to working before I received the pen, the pen fills & writes very well The original pocket clip was missing… So I installed a new hand cast “Snake” solid Sterling Silver. This makes for a HEAVY & BEAUTIFUL (& Unique) Fountain Pen! Pen is a full 6 & 5/8″ posted, and 5 & 7/16″ capped. Beautiful IDEAL #2 Nib, 14K Gold, (please see the close up photos of the nib) very Clean, graceful & non stressed nib with with very good iridium, smooth on rhodia paper – a tad toothy on cheep paper, better with a light hand – very fine point , Good ink flow, a very good performer. The nib is quite flexible with nice line variation, very fine to 1.6mm, it may be capable of more, but I would not push it further for the sake of preserving the nib. Not really a good nib for a beginner with FPs, Light to Medium pressure needed for nice nine variation when writing. Great for doodling , sketching , or expressive letter writing :- copperplate / Spencerian. The Paper is from a Rhodia Dotpad No. 16, the dots are 5mm apart to help you gauge the line variation. The inks are Waterman South Sea Blue (inspired), & Diamine Monaco Red. The writing sample shown was made by actually filling the pen with ink & writing with it- the writing sample will be included with the pen. I HAVE OTHER PENS LISTED.
