Very Rare Early Antique FABER Ornate Sterling Silver Cased Pencil in beautiful condition for the age – truly of the Rarest and Earliest Faber Pencils you’ll find – possibly late 18th or early 19th Century – a simply exceptional and more than likely even one of a kind and museum quality piece from the Pen of the Year Maker. This terrific old solid Sterling Silver Cased FABER Pencil was acquired recently from the estate of a lifelong high end mechanical pencil collector, who’s estate included some of the oldest and finest pencils in existence. This collection included Mont Blanc Chinese Imperial and Solid Gold and Sterling Silver Cased Pencils. This wonderful piece had been of the favorites of it’s previous owner, as Faber and Faber-Castell had been his most loved users throughout the years, and in his later years he began adding premium Faber-Castell Pen and Pencil of the Year models to his collection along with the earliest mechanical pencil examples he could find. The condition is truly as nice as you’ll find, with a gorgeous 150+ year old patina and not cleaned yet in any way. Collectors can look far and wide and will simply not find another one like it. Faber did make these chatelaine type pencils in both gold and sterling silver, however finding this done in ornate sterling is extremely rare so take advantage!
