We’ll be sending out sale notices and special deals to our’Favorites’ customers. 800 (nearly sterling) silver 5pc writer’s set including wax seal or sceau, letter opener, knife or scraper, pencil in etui & dip pen in the original fitted storage and/or presentation box! 1900 (give or take 10 years) French writer’s desktop set in fine old French sterling silver with each handle bearing the tiny boar’s head control mark meaning it’s guaranteed at least. The set appears to never have been put to use other than a small nip and some rust on the knife/scraper tool, and there is no engraved monogram or attached matrix on the wax seal so you could still have it engraved with your own or that of someone you intend it for as a gift. The set has simply been put away and treasured for over 100 years. One of two great old French writing sets, in addition to a few fabulous sterling silver & crystal inkwells, that we’re adding this week so be sure to browse some while you’re with us. Very good to excellent, a little age to the old box but nothing showing of wear or use at all on the five original matching writing tools. Some age tarnish and/or corrosion on the knife or scraper’s blade. Silversmith marks on a few pieces are nearly illegible and I’ve not found reference to them yet. A lovely set for a gift.
