Total weight is 1.5 oz (this includes the entire pen, not just the sterling part, although the sterling part is a substantial percentage of the pen). Writes with a smooth strong black ink line. I do not see where this pen is marked as sterling (which means I probably just missed it) but I have confirmed its metal content by means of nitric acid test. It definitely tests as sterling silver! It has both a substantial heft to it as well as a nice fit when it sits in your hand. Measures 5-3/4″ in length and 3/8″ diameter. Please refer to photos. Thanks for checking out my listing!

Not personalization – highly sought after. IDEAL’ Globe Embossed on Lever Bar. Up here is a vintage Waterman’s IDEAL 452-1/2v fountain pen, which was manufactured in USA circa 1900s. The pen is in ANTIQUE GRADE, of age more than a hundred years. Yet the condition is excellent, very rare to find in the market. The pen is in excellent condition, with sterling silver overlay on black hard rubber. The overlay is in excellent stunning hand-engraved floral-etched pattern, very nice you will not be disappointed. The pen is very rare, neat and tidy without any personalization. Only shows some minor wears. The pen is fitted with a Waterman’s 14ct solid gold nib, semi-flexible writing smooth medium line. A new sac is fitted, and the lever filling system is in nice condition. The pen been serviced and tested for its full functionality. This Waterman’s is a classic elegance and has been produced to the highest standards of craftsmanship. This would make an excellent gift to treat yourself or for someone special. The Waterman Pen Company was established in 1883 in New York City by Lewis Waterman. Waterman’s improvement on basic pen design and aggressive marketing played a vital role in making the fountain pen a mass-market object. The essential novelty of Waterman’s first fountain pens was the feed, for which his first pen-related patent was granted in 1884. By 1899, Lewis Waterman opened a factory in Montreal was was offering a variety of designs. Waterman’s opened subsidiaries in Europe to meet international demand. A Waterman Fountain pen won the Medal of Excellence at the 1900 Paris World Exposition. In 1901, upon Waterman’s death, his nephew took the business overseas and increased sales to 350,000 pens per year. Waterman’s fountain pen was extremely desirable. Up here is Waterman’s IDEAL 452, which the makers offered a vintage Waterman’s Ideal STERLING SILVER OVERLAY, with PANSY PANEL FLORAL pattern, which was manufactured in USA circa 1890s. The model is the largest size of the series, very collectible. The model number’452′ is embossed at the end of the barrel. This Waterman is in nice condition. It is in STERLING SILVER overlay, which is rare and high ranged model. The pen is long and bold, of overall length 5-3/8 inches. The pocket clip is stunning, with’CLIP-CAP STERLING’ and the’IDEAL’ globe embossed. And on the lever the’IDEAL’ globe is also embossed and is in pristine condition. On the barrel is an empty space for personalization; the pen is not personalized, yet a pinpoint ding. The pen bears a FLEXIBLE Waterman No. 2 14ct solid gold nib. A new sac has been fitted. The lever filling system is in good working order. The pen has been serviced and tested for its full functionality. VINTAGE WATERMAN’S IDEAL 452-1/2V FOUNTAIN PEN. Ding-free Sterling Silver Overlay with Hand-Engraved Floral VinePattern. IDEAL’ Globe Embossed on Lever Bar. Lever-filling Waterman 14ct Solid Gold Nib circa 1910s. New Ink Sac Fitted Serviced Nice Overall Condition. Up here is Waterman’s IDEAL 452-1/2v, which the makers offered a vintage Waterman’s Ideal STERLING SILVER OVERLAY, with HAND-ENGRAVED FLORAL VINE pattern, which was manufactured in USA circa 1910s. The model number’452-1/2V’ is embossed at the end of the barrel. This Waterman’s IDEAL is in nice condition. It is in STERLING SILVER overlay, which is rare and high ranged model. On the lever the’IDEAL’ globe is also embossed and is in prinistine condition. On the barrel is an empty space for personalization; the pen is not personalized. The pen bears a Waterman 14ct gold nib. A new sac has been fitted. The lever filling system is in good working order. The pen has been serviced and tested for its full functionality. This Waterman’s is a classic elegance and has been produced to the highest standards of craftsmanship. This would make an excellent gift to treat yourself or for someone special. Model number’452-1/2v’ embossed. The Waterman Pen Company was established in 1883 in New York City by Lewis Waterman. Waterman’s improvement on basic pen design and aggressive marketing played a vital role in making the fountain pen a mass-market object. The essential novelty of Waterman’s first fountain pens was the feed, for which his first pen-related patent was granted in 1884. By 1899, Lewis Waterman opened a factory in Montreal was was offering a variety of designs. Waterman’s opened subsidiaries in Europe to meet international demand. A Waterman Fountain pen won the Medal of Excellence at the 1900 Paris World Exposition. In 1901, upon Waterman’s death, his nephew took the business overseas and increased sales to 350,000 pens per year. Waterman’s fountain pen was extremely desirable. The Treaty of Versailles was signed using a solid gold Waterman pen, by Prime Minister David Lloyd George. We are international vintage pen collector and we collect pens all round the world. This is a stunning Victorian Edwardian era matching sterling silver with guilloche enamel calendar and pen holder desk set from wonderful old estate. It reads sterling and then has a hallmark that looks like a crown T lion and then numbers 3923. Looks like an English hallmark and I do not know the maker. Both items are marked. The calendar is 2 3/4″ by 2 1/4″ by 1/4 and features pink roses and blue violets on a blue background. The matching pen holder has a 3 3/8″ by 2 1/2″ by 5/8″ base with a 2 3/8″ by 5/8 pen holder that pivots. The pen holders base s heavy so it must be weighted inside. Could also be used as a paper weight. This set is in wonderful condition with no damage to enamel or silver to note. This is a fabulous set with great beauty.
