The original Gisi presentation box shows age-related wear, including visible discoloration or staining on the interior pen tray. An original Gisi presentation box, protective outer carton, black leather pen pouch, and rollerball refill are included. No original paperwork is included. Please review all photographs carefully to evaluate the cosmetic condition of the pen, presentation materials, and any imperfections. Photographs are part of the description. This Gisi writing instrument features an elaborate medieval-inspired design incorporating imagery associated with European knights, armor, heraldry, swords, shields, and crosses. The central cap motif features a raised Latin Cross set upon a hammered-texture Crusader shield, directly channeling the historic iconography of the Knights Templar. The design reflects the Gisi artisans’ distinctive approach to handcrafted writing instruments, combining detailed decorative metalwork with sculptural, three-dimensional elements. For collectors, Gisi writing instruments offer something beyond conventional luxury pens. Their distinctive designs, elaborate craftsmanship, and individual artistic character make them especially appealing to those who appreciate writing instruments as functional works of art. With many designs seldom encountered in the secondary market, acquiring a Gisi pen offers an opportunity to own an unusual example of American artisan craftsmanship and preserve a distinctive part of modern penmaking history. This capped rollerball features a glossy reddish-brown and black body with a decorative finish resembling natural woodgrain, accented by antiqued silver-colored metalwork. The sculptural clip incorporates a helmeted skull motif, while the cap and barrel feature an intricate arrangement of swords, shields, crosses, and other decorative details reminiscent of gothic Crusader armor. Hallmark: “925” marking on the metalwork, indicating sterling silver. Approximate Capped Length: 5.3 inches. Gisi Pen Company represents a distinctive chapter in American artisan penmaking, bringing together the talents of father-and-son craftsmen Mark and Brian Gisi of Colorado. Beginning around 2002, they developed a range of handcrafted writing instruments combining artistic imagination, precision engineering, and sophisticated construction techniques. Their creations incorporated intricate segmented patterns, contrasting materials, sculptural metalwork, and elaborate three-dimensional details. Drawing inspiration from geometric compositions, historical themes, and imaginative designs, they produced writing instruments reflecting both technical skill and artistic individuality. Gisi creations incorporated a variety of materials, including precious woods, sterling silver, brass, titanium, acrylic, casein, and other decorative elements. Certain designs featured specially crafted metal components, sculptural overlays, and intricate mechanical details requiring considerable skill and attention to detail. Both Mark and Brian were members of the Pen-Makers’ Guild, an organization dedicated to advancing penmaking as an art form. Their work also extended to teaching and sharing specialized construction techniques, inspiring other artisans and helping advance the craft of segmented penmaking. Black leather pen pouch.
