Offered here is a rare Waterman 416 Sterling Silver Trefoil Overlay eyedropper fountain pen a large and very high grade black hard rubber pen that is 5 ½ capped with just about a ½ cap diameter. The Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Trefoil pattern is simply beautiful Waterman made this pattern as early as 1907, continuing for a decade or so. There are no chips or cracks to the black body and the black is not grayed or toned, the silver is in great condition with no cracks or issues and the cartouche is uninscribed there is a minor ding or two on the rounded cap top. The pen is an eyedropper with slip cap both early features soon to disappear as 1920 approached. The big 14K gold Waterman No 6 Wet-Noodle Flexible nib is a Medium with good iridium it has a crack or a deep scratch at the very bottom of what is visible running only from the bottom of the Y in YORK [very low on the nib] down to the top of the 6 and maybe lower. This is nearly out of sight and doesnt seem to affect the nib which is beautiful and I presume original. I dont mean to downplay the crack it seems so minor and from some angles looks like a deep surface scratch. Finally the barrel end is impressed 16. This Waterman 416 is easily among the finest overlays or filigrees Ive ever had. More than just a pretty picture. Try Vendio Image Hosting. The pen has been regularly used, but is still presented in overall very good condition. The 1911 requires no introduction and is a legendary Sailor model – this is the rare sterling silver version, which is seldom seen for sale on the secondary market. It’s fitted with a 21k Zoom nib (the Z marking can be found on the side of the nib) – this is similar to a double broad, but it can write much finer by using it at around a 90 degree angle or using it upside down.
