Up for your consideration is the Morrison Sterling Silver Filigree Ring Top Fountain Pen and Pencil Set circa 1929 with original box. The Morrison Fountain Pen Company was located in New York City and was founded in 1910, operating into the 1950’s. The company was known for hard rubber pens with “filigree” overlays (sterling silver or 1/40 14K gold). The fountain pen measures under 4 inches, has the ring top, some markings to the post area but shines up nicely. The pen has been cleaned and polished. The 14Kt Morrison #4 nib still has good pointing. The nib has been removed, polished, feed cleaned and reseated. The lever is intact and the pressure bar functions as it should. It is ready to be sacked. The pencil literally shines, there is one small indent – see photos, but works as it should with an included 1.1 mm lead. The insignia areas are free of engraving. You can almost imagine the stories and histories written and how important it was then and now to make the time to express ourselves. You are literally holding 96 years of history.
