This is a very beautiful copy of the PARKER 75 Sterling Silver Cap & Barrel fountain pen made in the USA in the 1960’s. Look at the pictures, many of which are close-ups. Parker 75 was born in 1963, so named to commemorate the 75. Year of the Parker Pen Company. It was designed and created with the intention to capture the fountain pen high-end market, distinguishing its customers from those habitually used to writing with ballpoint pens.. It pioneered the following unique features of the time. An interchangeable cartridge and converter filling system. A gripping section with 3 flat surfaces of which two being ruled. Ruled section ring. Rotating nib assembly with the idea of allowing the nib to be rotated to the preferred angle by the writer. A dish top and barrel end (finials) with sunburst effect. Longer arrowhead and feather. Gold plated clip and finials, and. Solid 14K gold nib (stamped on nib: “14K point USA”). Parker used a luxurious 92.5% silver content metal for both the cap and barrel to enhance the feeling of luxury. It chose a crosshatch grid pattern with grooved lines filled with black enamel to accentuate the pattern. The production of the Parker 75 Sterling Silver Cap & Barrel in the USA was stopped after 1981 due to the complete Parker 75 line being moved to France. Therefore, this USA made pen is highly collectible. This copy of PARKER Sterling Silver Cap & Barrel on sale has (1) a 14K gold XF nib, (2) “PARKER Sterling Silver Cap & Barrel” stamped at the cap band, and (3) excellent conditions – shiny silver body and gold-plated clip and finials and no observable defects. I have also put in a new converter to it. Please let me know if you have any questions.
