Filling System: Lever Filled Fountain Pen. A vintage Waterman No. 52 Fountain Pen in hardened rubber, with stunning hallmarked sterling silver filigree overlay which we have dated as early 1920’s, made in USA. This particular model of Waterman has rightly earned its place as one of the greatest fountain pens ever produced, the classic design and extraordinary’Ideal’ nibs are some of the highest performing flex nibs which can be found today, 100 years on this pen is still writing beautifully. The pen comes fully restored in near mint condition and boxed in it a Waterman ideal box, the box is not original to the pen, and shows its vintage a little, but is nonetheless a wonderful accompaniment to this time capsule of a pen. Imperfections There are no major imperfections to note, no chips cracks or engravings. There is slight discolouration to the hardened rubber, and some light marks where the cap meets the barrel. The sterling silver overlay on the cap top shows a small amount of wear. Writing style Waterman IDEAL nibs have a reputation as some of the finest flex nibs every made.
