Vintage 1923 Conklin Crescent #3 Fountain Pen Sterling Silver, Restored
April 12, 2020 by admin | Filed under vintage. For your consideration is a 1920’s conklin #3 metal crescent filler fountain pen in basketweave “grid style” sterling silver overlay pattern. It measures 101mm capped, or about 4, not including the ringtop. Crescent fillers with any sort of overlay are uncommon, and sterling is even less common since most people opted for the gold filled versions. This one is restored with a new sac and is in good working condition. This one is complete with correct sterling silver lock ring and crescent filler (these came with black sections). The pen is marked “sterling” on the barrel threads. It has no major flaws but the engine turned patterning is worn, and there’s less definition than usual. The sterling silver has some oxidization which can be polished off. No cracks or splits but there’s one noticeable ding at the end of the barrel (see last picture). It is monogrammed with the initials L. The section is BHR and has some pliar marks. The #3 nib is fine with a bit of flex. If your country is not listed then contact me, and I’ll see what I can do. My pens are restored, tuned, and in good writing condition. If it does not perform well or is misdescribed, then please let me know, and I will provide a free return label for you.
