Vintage Sterling Silver Bud Vase Paperweight. This beautiful piece is made from sterling silver although the lower section has been filled to give extra weight and stability. It is a classic example of 1970s design with a plain, slightly tapered cylindrical neck and the lower, spherical section having a textured finish that glistens beautifully in the light. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1971 with the makers mark of Deakin & Francis Ltd. The weight of this piece suggests it was designed as a paperweight but the tube suggest it was also intended for displaying a flower bud although it could also be used for holding a pen.
