Very Early Parker 75 Fountain Pen in Sterling Silver with F-M 14K Nib Scarce
Offered here is a VERY EARLY and Rare example of a Parker 75 in Sterling Silver Cisele. The pen is listed as used because of its age – but I cannot see any signs that it was ever inked although it may have been. The Pen includes common components of an Early Production 75 as follows. “0” Reference on Section Ring in addition to the lines. Number 66 M 14K Made in USA Nib – with the 66 heat stamped on the curved part of the feed near the point. Narrow Contour on Section (must be felt to be appreciated). Early Large Metal Converter. But what sets this pen apart from most early metal thread Parker 75’s, in addition to the nib size marking, is the placement of the Clip. The Cap Tassie is notched to accommodate the Clip – as show in several photos. Very shortly into the 75 production Parker realized that it took to long (read “to expensive”) to align the clip with “Parker” on the cap band. So, production was changed to set the clip set in a new notch created in the top of the cap. This change caused the alignment to be done automatically when the cap was assembled. Most early metal threaded 75’s clips have the notched cap top – not the notched tassie. The example offered here was likely produced during the first days or weeks of production.
