Massive Oversize Vintage Waterman 418 VS- Sterling Silver Overlay c. 15.5 cm

I have for your consideration a wonderful sterling overlay Waterman pen in large size, with a very rare model number made for the French market, a no 418 VS. A 448 is hard enough to find and a 418 more so but this is the only example of a 418 VS that I know of. So we’re talking about a truly exceptional piece here! This pen is large, very very large, measuring about 15.5 cm when capped, and very chunky indeed. It is bigger than any of my other sterling overlay no 8 Waterman pens including a 418, a 448 and a 458. This pen is fitted with its original 18kt gold Waterman’s no 8 nib with plenty of flex. The tip is a Medium (M) and the nib writes with a soft line. Condition is excellent, safety mechanism is working correctly, with crisp imprints throughout, shiny black hard rubber and bright sterling overlay. Only very light signs of age.
