A beautiful Vintage Sterling Silver Pen Made In Italy Exclusively For HOLT RENFREW Comes with original case. Extremely rare and possibly unique. I have been unable to locate another example of this Holt Renfrew/Kohler & Schaefer/KOSCA sterling silver pen in available records or online searches. Marked Made in Italy 925, then a number 53M1 is what I can make out. 53 MI is specifically documented as KOSCA S. The Italian silversmith directory identifies 53 MI as Kohler & Schaefer, later KOSCA S. Inside pen can be refilled. I searched specifically for the fiber/felt-tip mechanism, KOSCA/53 MI, Holt Renfrew, and vintage Italian pens. I did not find a documented original Holt Renfrew/KOSCA replacement refill, so I don’t want to pretend I’ve found an exact match. The tip is still writing lightly and legible, not dark. There may be a better option if you want a replacement but always keep original one. Have the original insert professionally restored/re-inked. A vintage pen restorer may be able to rejuvenate the internal reservoir while retaining the original exterior. Find a donor insert. We can search specifically for another vintage pen using the same 140 mm × 12.7 mm solid insert. This is much more promising than searching for generic modern refill. But I did find some very promising modern alternatives. Best candidate: Schmidt 5020. The gold bands on the pen case might be real gold, never had it tested. The pen is 5.75 long.
