The traditional technique called rankaku (eggshell inlay) to allow the most artistic expression in the creation process. Small bits of eggshells are placed on the design that has been drawn on pen body. The soft, warm effect of eggshell and its pure white color, impossible to produce in lacquer, was prized in the old days. The egg-shell pieces are embedded in lacquer; then exposed again by polishing to achieve the image of gently falling snow against the night sky. The Pen features a stunning sterling silver dragon clip that only intensifies the elegance and beauty against the warm effect of the eggshell.
